Legal term
[Portugal] Ot: Cota de soleira
The threshold level is the level of the threshold of the building's main entrance.1
Additional notes:
When the building is served by two streets and has an entrance from both, or when it has several entrances on the same street, the one considered to be the main entrance must be clearly indicated for the purposes of main entrance, for the purposes of defining the threshold level.
In detailed plans (Ot: planos de pormenor) and subdivision operations, the threshold level is expressed in metres and will always be linked to the country's official precision altimetric reference system.
In other territorial plans, exceptionally, the threshold level can be established by indicating a height above the level of the adjacent pavement that serves the main entrance to the building, i.e. by indicating the elevation of the threshold.
