A parcel is a physically, legally or topologically delimited portion of territory.
The term "parcel", used in the context of land use planning or urban planning, can have very different meanings, and the land management instrument that uses it must define the terms of application of the concept:
Article 7(3) of Law 111/2015, of 27 August, in its current form, which establishes the Legal Framework for Land Structuring, defines a parcel as any delimited part of the land without physical autonomy and the buildings on it that do not have economic autonomy2.
