It is the distance between the vertical projection of the building wall and the boundary line, measured at the point of maximum protrusion. As well as the boundary line of the various existing properties or the line that defines the different lots or compartments of the implementation plans, it is understood as the border also the boundary line of public areas for services or equipment identified in the urban planning instruments.1

Detachment from borders is the distance between the side or rear façade of a building and the corresponding edges of the building on which it is located. 2
Additional notes: A distinction can be made between side distance and rear distance to borders. The distance between the main façade of the building and the front of the building is called the setback.
Setback is expressed in meters.
